Electrosynthesis of CdS/MoS<sub>2</sub> Using Electrodeposited MoS<i><sub>x</sub></i>: A Combined Voltammetry–Electrochemical Quartz Crystal Nanogravimetry Study

Here, we describe a strategy for preparing CdS/MoS2 heterostructures using initially electrodeposited MoSx on polycrystalline gold substrate. The excess sulfur intrinsic to the MoS3 surface was derivatized with Cd form spherical particles by judicious adjustment of medium pH and interfacial electrochemistry. progression this conversion monitored combination cyclic/linear sweep voltammetry coupled electrochemical quartz crystal nanogravimetry. films were further characterized scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray analysis, laser Raman spectroscopy, photoelectron spectroscopy. Heterojunction formation between MoS2 CdS confirmed high-resolution transmission microscopy as well via Kelvin probe measurements contact potential differences, without presence surface. nonoptimized showed improved photoelectrochemical response compared or oxidation sulfite species.
